About the Author

Elisabeth Crawford received her BFA in Dance and Choreography from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1991. She then moved to San Francisco and formed her own modern dance company, Metamorph Dance. She was a Pilates instructor in San Francisco from 1995–2006.

Elisabeth has written for Pilates Style, Private Clubs, and American Fitness magazines. Balance on the Ball has also been featured in Shape Magazine.

After visiting the Ledragomma GymnastikBall factory in the Friuli–Venezia Giulia region of Italy, Elisabeth began writing a new book that combines her passion for Italy and cooking. Flavors of Friuli: A Culinary Journey through Northeastern Italy was published in 2010 and has won the following awards:
